Policies and Forms - Trainees

The College has a number of policies relating to training which set out the appropriate standard of behaviour or actions expected by the College.

Our policies are formally documented and provide a framework within which operating procedures may be developed.

Many of our policies are currently progressing through governance approval processes. As our policies are approved, they will be uploaded to this 'Policies and Forms' webpage.

Details on recently approved policies, can be found below:

  • The Interrupted and Part-Time Training Policy V3.0 is a cross-faculty policy which has been updated to align to the new Training Program and reflect proposed practice. This policy is designed to assist with the management of variations to training which are requested by trainees within the Clinical Radiology or the Radiation Oncology Training Programs. Trainees may apply for a period of interrupted training, or to train part-time. This Policy commenced operation on 1 July 2022, replacing the Interrupted and Part-Time Training Policy V2.1 which ceased operation on 30 June 2022.
  • The Training Requirements (Clinical Radiology) Policy V1.0 is a newly developed clinical radiology specific policy which is designed to stipulate the requirements trainees must complete during the Training Program. The policy also applies to prospective applicants to the Training Program and has been developed with close reference to the Clinical Radiology Training Program Handbook and the Training Compact (which currently, new trainees sign upon commencement of accredited training). This Policy commenced operation on 1 July 2022.
  • The Training Requirements (Radiation Oncology) Policy V1.0 is a newly developed radiation oncology specific policy which is designed to stipulate the requirements trainees must complete during the Training Program. The policy also applies to prospective applicants to the Training Program and has been developed with close reference to the Radiation Oncology Training Program Handbook and the Training Compact (which currently, new trainees sign upon commencement of accredited training). This Policy commenced operation on 1 July 2022.
  • The Re-Entry into the Training Programs Policy V1.0 is a newly developedcross-faculty policy which is intended to provide a framework by which former trainees can re-enter the Clinical Radiology Training Program or the Radiation Oncology Training Program. This Policy commenced operation on 1 July 2022.
  • The Recognition of Prior Learning Policy V2.0 is a cross-faculty policy which provides applicants the opportunity to obtain recognition for learning, experience or assessments which predate the commencement of approved RANZCR Clinical Radiology and Radiation Oncology accredited training. This policy commenced operation on 1 February 2022, replacing the Recognition of Prior Learning Policy V1.0.
  • The Phase 1 Examinations (Clinical Radiology) Policy describes the requirements for the Phase 1 Examinations for trainees in the Clinical Radiology Training Program. This policy commenced operation on 1 February 2022, replacing the Part 1 Examination (Clinical Radiology) Policy.
  • The Performance and Progression Policy V1.0 and the Remediation in Training Policy V1.0 are cross-faculty policies which are designed to assist in the identification, support, management and evaluation of Clinical Radiology or Radiation Oncology trainees who are not performing and/or progressing at a rate reasonably expected of a trainee within the Clinical Radiology Training Program or the Radiation Oncology Training Program. These policies commenced operation on 1 February 2022, replacing the respective faculty specific policies (e.g. Performance and Progression (Clinical Radiology) Policy, Remediation Policy (Radiation Oncology)).
  • The Withdrawal from Training Policy V1.0 is a cross faculty policy which enables a trainee to voluntarily withdraw from the Clinical Radiology Training Program or the Radiation Oncology Training Program. This Policy also enables the College to withdraw a trainee from the Clinical Radiology Training Program or the Radiation Oncology Training Program. This policy commenced operation on 1 February 2022, replacing the respective faculty specific policies (i.e. Withdrawal from Training (Clinical Radiology) Policy, Withdrawal from Training Policy (Radiation Oncology)).
