Dr Sarah Constantine

I have been involved in the Part 2 oral exams for almost 10 years and the Part 1 anatomy exam for about 2 years.
I was quite nervous at first as to whether I was good enough to be an examiner, but the established examiners and College officials were all very helpful and supportive. Now I cannot imagine not being involved! The exams keep me on my toes and help keep me up-to-date with my knowledge better than any other CPD activities. I have also made some wonderful radiology friends from all over Australia and New Zealand. It is also great to give back to the College — if we all volunteer a little bit, the system will keep on going for years to come.

Time commitment

Members should be able to dedicate around 1–2 hours per week to College examination activities, with additional time around meetings and examinations.

The Panel meets throughout the year to prepare and attend scheduled meetings and workshops. Meetings include one face-to-face session (travel required) and others via webinar, each requiring up to 8 hours of preparation and attendance.

Typical schedule:

  • 2 x setting meeting (2 days)
  • 2 x review meetings (0.5 day each)
  • Examiner training session (1 day)

Length of Tenure

Panel members serve a three-year term and can be reappointed for up to three terms in a row. After that, they need to take a two-year break before rejoining, unless the Panel Chair and Chair of CREAC approve an extension.
