The Anatomy Examination Review Panel (AERP) develops, sets, reviews, and marks the Phase 1 Anatomy written examinations. Joining the panel is a rewarding way to contribute to both your profession and the College.
The Clinical Radiology AERP comprises up to ten members—an equal mix of anatomists and radiologists—with no limit on sub-panel members. The panel’s work is guided by the principles of:
We invite Fellows or Life Members (minimum three years post-FRANZCR or equivalent) and Anatomists (minimum three years post-qualification).
If you are passionate about anatomy and experienced in exam preparation or teaching, this role may suit you. You don’t need expertise in the entire syllabus—regular teaching in key areas is sufficient.
“ I have been involved in the Part 2 oral exams for almost 10 years and the Part 1 anatomy exam for about 2 years. I was quite nervous at first as to whether I was good enough to be an examiner, but the established examiners and College officials were all very helpful and supportive. Now I cannot imagine not being involved! The exams keep me on my toes and help keep me up-to-date with my knowledge better than any other CPD activities. I have also made some wonderful radiology friends from all over Australia and New Zealand. It is also great to give back to the College — if we all volunteer a little bit, the system will keep on going for years to come. — Dr Sarah Constantine
