Release of New Radiation Oncology Training Policies

Three new Radiation Oncology Training policies were released on 1 November 2017 which replace the Radiation Oncology Trainees in Difficulty Policy:

Assessment, management and monitoring of trainees is an essential component of the training program and as such it is required that trainees participate in regular reviews to monitor their performance and progression through the training program. These reviews provide trainees with an opportunity to discuss their learning needs and objectives, evaluate their knowledge and skills and receive feedback on their performance. Should a trainee experience difficulties for any reason and not be performing and progressing to the standard outlined in the training program, these policies provide a framework to manage any issues in a transparent and supportive environment while working towards a positive resolution.

All Radiation Oncology trainees, Directors of Training and Training Network Directors are asked to please familiarise themselves with these policies. Further communication from the College regarding these policies will also be sent to those involved in the Radiation Oncology Training program.
