The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (RANZCR) welcomes the New Zealand Government’s announcement today that it will reform the health system to end the “postcode lottery” of care. RANZCR agrees that reform of the health system is necessary and hopes the organisational changes do not lose sight of the goal of better and more equitable care. RANZCR strongly supports the goal of achieving equity of health outcomes for all New Zealanders, particularly Maori and Pacific peoples. RANZCR believes a key pillar of reform is increasing the radiology and radiation oncology workforce.
