RANZCR Action Plan for Māori, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health

The College is committed to supporting the professions of clinical radiology and radiation oncology to contribute to equitable health outcomes for Māori, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples. To enable the College to achieve this commitment, RANZCR has developed an Action Plan for Māori, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health which outlines the roles, responsibilities and targets the College seeks to meet and maintain. It includes a three-year timeframe for implementation.

The Action Plan will enable the College to work towards achieving its objectives to:

  • Align the goals of the College with the best-practice standards expected by our accrediting bodies (AMC and MCNZ) and with the health priorities of Māori, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples
  • Increase the numbers of Māori, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clinical radiologists and radiation oncologists;
  • Embed cultural safety into clinical practice; and
  • Build strong links with representative groups in the Indigenous health sector.
