A two-day conference aimed at addressing the transformative role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in clinical radiology  (CR) and radiation oncology (RO) and how our professions will need adapt for a future digital world enhanced by AI.

AI is being increasingly implemented in practices across AU and NZ. The conference will focus on how the workforce will need to adapt to ensure readiness. AI remains a key area of interest for RANZCR members. 

The conference will cover the following topics: 

  • How AI will continue to change practice and impact the workforce. 
  • How the future role of radiologists will need to embrace multimodality data and AI bias to optimise performance. 
  • Human-machine collaborative interfaces, and how these can be optimised to improve efficiency and accuracy, whilst avoiding automation bias.   
  • What an optimised AI-enabled radiologist workflow of the future could look like. 
  • Best practices for implementation of AI into the CR and RO workflows. 
  • How the Australian and New Zealand setting affects: 
  • AI regulations (current and future),  
  • Medicolegal risk. 
  • Compliance. 
  • Data ‘ownership’ and sovereignty, particularly for Maori, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.  
  • Funding implications for AI. 
  • Use of AI for opportunistic screening and personalised risk prediction. 
  • Consumer and patient consent for the use of AI in healthcare.
