Faculty of Radiation Oncology Lung Interest Cooperative (FROLIC)

FROLIC20logo1The FROLIC Special Interest Group was formed late in 2014 to develop a national group of radiation oncologists who promote the role of radiation therapy in the management of lung cancer. Specifically:

  1. To facilitate best-practice radiation therapy treatment of patients with lung cancer and other thoracic malignancies including thymic tumours and mesothelioma
  2. To facilitate collaborative research in lung cancer and other thoracic malignancies

Objectives

The objectives of the group are:

  1. To develop standard protocols for the radiation therapy treatment of lung cancer (and other thoracic malignancies), particularly with regard to newer treatment techniques and imaging modalities
  2. To promote collaborative research in lung cancer (and other thoracic malignancies) radiation therapy by identifying and promoting involvement in relevant clinical trials
  3. To provide education on radiation therapy treatment of lung cancer (and other thoracic malignancies) to health care professionals and consumers
  4. To provide expert advice on lung cancer and other thoracic malignancies radiation therapy to clinical trials groups (eg TROG, ALTG) and other organisations (eg NSWCI, Cancer Council etc)
