Australian women with potential pregnancy abnormalities will now be able to access a Medicare rebate for MRI scans providing vital information on the health of their unborn baby after a successful application to Medicare by The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (RANZCR).
The listing of obstetric MRI for women of at least 18 weeks gestation, where there is suspected fetal abnormality, was confirmed in today’s Mid-Year Economic and Fiscal Outlook (MYEFO).
