JMIRO Editor-in-Chief: Expressions of Interest

Expressions of Interest are being called for an Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Medical Imaging of Radiation Oncology (JMIRO), commencing 1 January 2024.

The primary responsibilities of the Editor-in-Chief are to inform and educate readers, with attention to the accuracy and importance of Journal articles, and protect and strengthen the integrity and quality of the Journal and its processes. 

Commitment

The successful applicant will be expected to:

  • Chair the meetings of the JMIRO Editorial Board
  • Provide leadership, guidance and strategic direction to activities of the Journal
  • Guide the overall strategic direction of the Journal, in consultation with the College and the Publisher
  • Implement and apply the editorial policies of the Journal
  • Engage members of the Editorial Board, including the Associate Editors, to solicit and acquire suitable contributions to the Journal and undertake timely review of manuscripts
  • Maintain a high level of quality in the manuscript review and Journal editing process
  • Ensure appropriate and timely communication is provided to authors
  • Convene and chair an annual face-to-face meeting of the Editorial Board and other meetings as deemed necessary.

Eligibility

The Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Medical Imaging and Radiation Oncology (JMIRO) shall be a Fellow of the College with expertise in, and enthusiasm for, the publication of a peer reviewed scientific journal of high quality and relevance to the Fellowship.
