The largest Radiology Meeting on the East Coast this year will feature a workshop to Prepare Radiologists for The National Lung Cancer Screening Program.

Radiology is currently undergoing a great transformation. AI is being introduced to all areas of Radiology while imaging and treatment are melding into one as precision medicine comes to the fore. There are major staff shortages coupled with increased workload and burnout. At the same time, innovations such as remote scanning, photon counting CT and ChatGPT are being rolled out and being tentatively adopted.

What does this all mean for our future?

RADAIM 2024 has been formulated to help Radiologists, Radiographers, practices and departments gauge the current state of play in Radiology. Clinical topics with straightforward explanation of the latest techniques and best practice for Medical Imaging staff will feature. The program also concentrates on forward trends and recommendations from clinical leaders in our profession, vendors and key industry stakeholders.

This year at RADAIM, Dr Catherine Jones is running concurrent workshops for Radiologists focusing on the soon to be implemented National Lung Cancer Screening Program. These workshops are expected to be well attended due to Dr Jones prominence in this field and the time limited urgency of the programs implementation.

AI/deep machine learning and its clinical adoption will feature prominently in RADAIM 2024. Those of us in the medical imaging fraternity have a limited knowledge of the capabilities, implications and associated liability of AI usage. RADAIM 2024 also hopes to shed light on the overlooked, but extremely useful types of AI that improve efficiency, accuracy, patient experience and throughput. Conversely, the shortcomings and confusing exaggerated claims will be put under the microscope.

An open session featuring prominent private and public radiology figures such as Dr Julian Adler, Dr Ian Kadish, Dr Ron Shnier, Dr Catherine Jones and Dr Parm Naidoo will let delegates ask directly those that are in the know their thoughts on our future direction.

As always, the trade exhibition will display the best and latest products our vendors have to offer. Where better to learn than in the beautiful JW Marriott Resort on the Gold Coast in the sunny Queensland winter.
