Expressions of Interest - Chief Accreditation Officer

Expressions of Interest are being called for from Fellow members with an interest in the processes and practices pertaining to the accreditation of training sites and networks in clinical radiology.

The position of Chief Accreditation Officer (CAO) is an office bearer position of the College who is responsible for managing the accreditation of training networks and training sites including the conducting of site visits and the ongoing monitoring of training networks’ and sites' compliance with Faculty training requirements.
The CAO is also a key member of the Clinical Radiology Education and Training Committee which responsible for the oversight of the Clinical Radiology Training Program, to the stage of admission to Fellowship, and is charged with facilitating and supporting appropriate mechanisms to assist trainees to develop as competent Clinical Radiologists.

Specialty Clinical radiology


  • Attendance at accreditation visits or delegation of duties to other accreditation panel members as appropriate;
  • To be available 2-5 hours per week for consultation with College staff regarding administration activities
  • Attendance at all four full day meetings for the Clinical Radiology Education and Training Committee annually
  • Attendance at three two hour Clinical Radiology Training Accreditation Working Group teleconferences annually

This appointment is for a three-year term, commencing 1 January 2021.

Eligibility Criteria

  • At least five (5) years post-FRANZCR
  • A Fellow or Life member of the Faculty of Clinical Radiology
  • Actively involved in an accredited teaching and training program
  • Experience in areas of Clinical Radiology, in addition to work (e.g. education training, management, governance, RANZCR)
  • A skilled evaluator and good communicator
  • Available to travel interstate and overseas
  • Participate in at least three site visits before commencement in the role.*Due to COVID-19 and travel and social distancing restrictions, alternate arrangements for assessment experience will be facilitated.
