RANZCR Examinations Update: Dates Confirmed

The Covid-19 pandemic and associated public health restrictions have impacted on all aspects of the Clinical Radiology and Radiation Oncology Training Programs, particularly the examinations.

As previously indicated in our May update to all trainees, the College is focused on holding its delayed 2020 examinations before the end of the year. In line with Guidelines for decision making related to Covid-19 Crisis, we have considered alternative methods of examination delivery, while ensuring our capacity to deliver and maintaining the integrity of the examination process. 

Following extensive consultation with education and training committees, training departments and trainees, the RANZCR Board has approved modified examination plans, for 2020 only as outlined in a communique sent to trainees in both faculties. 

The planned 2020 examination dates for clinical radiology are:

• Part 1 examinations: 19 and 20 October 2020
• Part 2 MCQ examinations: 21 October 2020
• Part 2 E-Film examinations: November 2020 with date to be announced
• Part 2 Viva body system examinations: November 2020 with dates to be announced
• Part 2 Pathology examinations: November 2020 with dates to be announced 

The planned 2020 examination dates for radiation oncology are:

• Phase 1: 16 October 2020
• Phase 2 – Writtens: 26 & 27 October 2020
• Phase 2 – Vivas: to be announced
