The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (RANZCR) today welcomes the pledge by the Australian Greens to end the 20-year freeze on Medicare radiology rebates and urges the other major political parties to commit to a fairer go for Australian patients.
The Greens have said they would invest $557m in radiology to cover the cost of ending the current freeze, which leaves hundreds of thousands of Australians shouldering additional costs for radiology scans each year.
